Observations

We skied in the Rock Howard Mastiff alpine area and conditions were firm snow with sun/wind crust on E-S-W aspects and soft, wind-affected snow in the areas that managed to stay shaded over the past week. Observed very large crowns on south and east aspects from the last major cycle, as well as large cornices on the east side of ridges, and loose wet debris on south and east aspects. Weather was clear and calm which allowed us to see far to Wenatchee Ridge where there is a large glide crack opening on the S aspect.
