Observations

3-4" of snow was well bonded to the most recent melt-freeze crust. The depth and distribution of the snow were impressively uniform from near the summit to 5000' and across all aspects we observed (SW-S-NE on the SE flank of the mountain). The sun did affect the snow today, especially below 7500', but didn't have the intensity or temperature to set off a loose wet avalanche cycle.
