Observations

Toured around Barlow Butte / Barlow Road area. Nice skiing on the north aspect of Barlow Butte in the trees. Started to notice slightly wind affected snow around 4500 ft. though found nothing to be reactive, mostly on <35 deg slopes - see attached photo.

Around 10:30 AM started touring up Barlow Pass Road and soon noticed evidence of solar affected loose wet snow conditions on a NE aspect just above the road bed. Pinwheels and roller balls as shown in the attached photo.

Really warmed up with tree bombs dropping by 11:30 AM and snow becoming wet with 6-8 inches of ski penetration as I made my way back to the trail head.

Media

Wind affected snow below treeline around 4500'. N aspect becoming more so as I moved to NE aspects.
