Observations

Beautiful sunny morning up Snoqualmie Mountain (Phantom Slide). Very defined crust that started to disappear around 4800', now buried below 10-20cm of new snow. Dug numerous hand pits above the main tree line (~5200') - saw ~50cm of snow on top of old snow snow surface (sun crust pre-AR event? Or maybe a little rain on the front end?), with ~20 cm of new snow on top of denser layers. No planar shears observed, generally unconsolidated and the lower "new" snow seemed well bonded. The Tuesday/overnight 10-20 cm was slightly wind affected, but overall was still fairly light and unconsolidated, no signs of surface instability were observed. North aspects (looking down Snot/Slot) looked *much* more wind affected though. Great surfy skiing!
