Observations

Avalanche Obs: Observed a few small (D1) loose wet slides just above the Nordic trails while approaching Roaring Ridge. They were on east facing slopes well below TL on steep solar aspects.

Snowpack Obs: Generslly approx. 15-20cms of very light (F-) snow sitting atop a rain crust. Upper snowpack consisted predominantly of a mix of graupel and some wind-affected snow. Numerous hand shears saw moderate, but sudden results down 23cms on the 2/23 MFcr. Dig a profile on a N-facing aspect in an open area at 4700’. These were the results:
-CTM16RP down 25cms on 2/23 MFcr.
-CTH24RP down 58cms on another rain crust

Weather Obs: Clear & cold in the shade. Strong solar effects. Calm winds. Sky cover stayed sunny throughout the whole day (until when left the field at approx. 4pm).

Great day to be out with great ski quality all day!
