Observations

I was out in a helicopter on the morning of Feb 24 in the Hwy 2/Index area then north in the Mountain Loop Highway vicinity. I saw several slab avalanches which probably ran Sun-Mon (2/21-22). They were all filled in to varying degrees so it was difficult to determine what layer they actually failed on. Crowns were mostly at least a meter deep, probably more. Ranging from D2-D3. They were on all aspects, especially in the ATL and NTL. Several were large enough that the debris ran to the valley floor. Runnels from rain event were visible below 4500ft.
