Observations

Snow largely terrain-anchored at Sun Mountain. Few, if any, crowns noted in the alpine from afar (see photo-notes).

Morning began with an inversion/cloudsea, burning off by mid-day in the sunshine. Nordic conditions remained dry and fun, even in the sun. Glints of surface hoar on the surface -- solar aspects probably got attenuated by the day's sun.

Snowpack near Winthrop is composed of the recent snow sitting atop layers of facets and faceted crusts. Snow near 3000' felt similar. Many roofs in the area are still holding substantial snow, which may change with the expected warmup/rain.
