Zone or Region:
Did you observe any avalanches? Yes
Size 2: Could bury, injure, or kill a person
Viewed from adjacent ridge above Bear Gap. SE face. Looked about 120 ft wide, ~ 12 + inches deep, that pulled new snow from Friday to Friday night.
While touring Saturday morning, we noticed the slide around 10 am. From our vantage point we could see an up track going into the slide path, approaching from Bear Gap and heading up SE ridge of Pickhandle. Slide carried at least 1 person of party of 2 (see photo). We skied down west side to below Bear Gap and saw two out tracks.
Morning sun on east faces created thin melt / freeze crust on recent snow.
