Observations

Travelled between 3.8 and 5.8k on primarily SW to N aspects. Skied W facing low angle slopes at approx. 4.5k with mix of settled powder and a breakable sun crust on more solar aspects. HS approximately 1 m deep at 4.5k. On SW aspect around 5k observed near surface faceting of new snow (a few inches) above a sun crust. Skied N to NW aspects from 5.8 to 5k. Observed obvious signs of previous wind transport and active wind transport from Westerly winds in this area. See photos below of small wind slab that popped out from skin track on a cross-loaded NNE aspect at 5.5k. Great settled powder skiing in wind-sheltered locations. Increasing clouds throughout the day and light snow when we left around 2 pm.
