The 2/18 storm appears to have over delivered on snow and under-delivered on wind. ~30cm new snow at 6k on SSE aspect near tree line. No wind today, and very little sign of any overnight wind. In this area/aspect, the new storm snow sits on a thin zipper sun crust which probably formed on 2/17. There is a weak interface above and below this thin crust, which produced easy hand shears (fails on isolation) and ECTP6 down 30cm (just below the thin crust). This issue appeared to subside where sun did not affect the surface snow prior to the storm (in the shade and below treeline). Another party on a W aspect near treeline found similar conditions.
