Comments:
Lots of natural soft slabs breaking all over Alpental Valley after 1-2pm in the new storm snow. Creek banks, steep rollovers, pockets under cliffs all observed with 4-8" releases. None appeared to run far, but the new storm snow was incredibly reactive.
None reported
Snowing heavily all day with moderate temperature increase after noon that increased observed activity. Alpental resort and access closed at 2:30, after an avalanche hit the Alpental Access Road. Appeared to be a soft slab, 12" crown that ran from the open slope across from the Alpental Strasse neighborhood, and left 3' of debris on the road (no one hit, thankfully).
