Comments:
We were skiing in treed terrain between 5500 and 4500'. I triggered a small loose dry avalanche on a convex test slope. This slide continued to run down the slope, then remotely triggered a much larger avalanche on a nearby open and rocky slope. The slide was 18" deep and about 200' wide, wrapping around several terrain features. It only ran about 100 vertical feet down the slope due to the thicker forest. The slide failed on the 2/11 interface at the base of this recent series of storms. Small 1mm facets were found at the interface.
