Observations

Headed up to Kendall Trees around 0700 PST. Temp ~14F at the Summit West lot, snow in open areas between trees at the start of the skin track was 12"+ low density powder. Snow was not particularly cohesive up to Kendall Knob, but started noting some wind affected snow and cracking on kick turns varying from 4"-8" during the ascent towards tree line. Snow quality in the trees was quite good. Snowfall increased in intensity through the morning. Partner remote triggered a slide on the way out after stopping just above the skin track, washing out the skin track right in front of my tips. Crown was 10-12" and seemed confined to new storm snow. Snowpack seemed notably more reactive on the exit (relative to the approach) after further loading throughout the morning.

Media
