Signs of Unstable Snow

Observations

Dug down to the mid January crust/facet layer (down 150cm where we dug) on an E aspect at 5100 ft. A Deep Tap Test did not produce any results (DTN). After wailing on the column for another 10-15 hits , we eventually did get a Sudden Planar fracture on a layer of 1-2mm facets sitting on top of the crust. Probing along our route showed the 1/24 crust down 140-220cm.
