In a single column test, near the top of the ridge on the NW face of Yodelin, we observed a reactive interface between the rain crust and the new snow. It broke after 4 light taps from the elbow and slid easily. The face of the break was slightly lumpy and consisted of irregular sugary crystals. When the column was moved to be inspected it split about one foot from the surface with the total height of the column being about 2.5 feet above the rain crust. The split was very planer and we were able to get it to react in the face of the pit with a shovel pull test but it did not react when tapped. The top foot of snow was blower with the lower portion being slightly more consolidated. We stayed on low angle terrane and did not see many signs of reactiveness while riding other than plentiful dry sluff.
