Observations

We saw large cornices on ridgelines in the Blewett Pass area such as this one by Tronsen Head. We saw what appeared to be recent avalanche debris on this ridgeline- possibly a wind slab that released, but we were too far away to really see.
We dug snow pits to the ground level at about 5260’ on a southwest facing slope and did tests but couldn’t get any results (nothing sheared off or propagated). We saw the 2/1 crust and melt/ freeze snow forms in the lowest layers. The snowpack was only about 100cm deep where we dug these pits.

We later dig a pit on a somewhat higher slope -5930’ - that was north facing and found the facets predicted in the forecast.
