Signs of Unstable Snow

Observations

Toured to Artist Point on Lvl 1 Course. We dug pits on an east aspects and found the mid Jan faceted layer to be 3-4 feet down. The facets were rounding but the occasional well preserved small, less than 1.0mm, facets were spotted. Compression test yielded sudden planar results from the shoulder while neither of the 2 ECT's had propagation. CTH 22, 23, SP down 120cm. ECTN 20

No new signs of recent avalanche activity in the storm layers or on the Jan facets from limited visibility breaks Sunday. Saturday we were able to kick off 1 foot storms slabs in lee aspects while the same test slopes were nonreactive on Sunday.
