Traveled from the highway east of the ski resort. In the trees, the crust was surprisingly well covered and tree bombs minimal. Moist snow down low drying out near tree line. Once at ridge line, evidence of the S/SE winds became clear, Lots of wind affected snow but minimal shooting cracks. No sign of avalanche activity on the drive up or in the Miriam Creek basin. Skies had some sun poking through before becoming fully overcast. Moderate S/SE winds shifting to S/SW moving snow on the ridge lines. Lightly snowing. Air temp -1.4C @ 6300
Dug a pit at ~6300 on an E aspect in a cross loaded area. HS 250. F to F+ going to 4F. @ 215 1cm MFcr with small 1mm facets above and below. Another 5cm MFcr @210.
CT2 BRK @240 in a density change likely from wind loading,
CT5 SP Q1, ECTP 6@215 failing on small 1mm facets above the crust.
CT8 SP Q1 on a layer of facets below the second crust @ 205.
