Signs of Unstable Snow

Observations

Toured up to 5,200' just below First Top north of Mt Angeles. 185 cm total snowpack depth with 30 cm of fresh snow. Slight soft-slabbiness in places with the top 5 cm slightly denser than the lighter snow underneath. Minor sluffing while skiing steeper slopes. The mid-January crust in this area was very rough and nothing was sliding on it. Snowline is very high, I couldn't begin skinning until 4,200'.
