Observations

Various hand pits showed variable depths (15 to 65cm) of storm snow over weak faceted snow on a 10cm thick crust, in some locations this weak snow was under a very thin decomposing MF crust. Experienced small localized collapses throughout the day.

Dug a quick pit at approximately 4500ft on a NNE aspect. 65cm of storm snow on a thin MF crust over a 5cm thick layer of faceted grains. This weak snow sits on a 10cm thick MF crust buried on 1/22. Compression test results: SC CTM12 @70cm in the faceted grains, the underlying crust is irregular. Extended column test results: ECTN24 @30cm
