Observations

AIARE L2 in Great Scott Bowl. Approached via Big Trees. Trees still holding less new snow and providing challenging skinning/travel conditions. Skied out No Fog which is skiing as expected with variable chopped up snow to blue ice! Out between 8:00 AM and 3:00 PM.

Weather: Variable-direction light winds with gusts to mod and S-1 to S1 precip throughout the day. Active snow transport.

Snowpack obs: Groups dug primarily on NW - NE aspects at approximately 4700 ft. Consistently found at least one layer of facets under 1/13 crust, with a few groups identifying multi crust/facet lattice. We were consistently getting Q1 results at 1/13 crust/facet interface down 40 - 52 cm. ECTP on this same layer. Upper snowpack above this still holding as cold power (!); only layers identified within new snow were where wind impacted.
