Observations

Widespread collapsing and cracking on northerly terrain above 4000', especially on sheltered, non-solar aspects (NE to NW). Collapses going out to 20 meters and below the 1/14 crust. Cracking limited to 2-3 meters. Skier-triggered avalanches on N and NE at 3800': ASc-SS-R1-D1.5 and another party contributed their own AS-SS-R1-D2 that entrained wet and dry snow and ran over an existing slide, both of which had entrained soft snow in a terrain trap and ran several hundred feet. Both likely initiated on the most recent (1/14) crust and associated weak snow (facets or surface hoar).
