Observations

Salmon La Sac up to Ghallager is where we saw the avalanche in the picture. We did some tests about another 500 higher up the trail where the avalanche was seen. Column test showed a weak layer just below the surface about 3 inches which with a foot or two on top of it will pose some problems for the strength of the snow pack in coming weeks/months. Extended column test showed no signs of propagation.
