Observations

The main observation worth making note is: wide spread surface facets with a wide distribution BTL, NTL, and ATL. The 2" of snow deposited Thursday, that landed on the very thick melt freeze crust, has recrystallized into graduated surface facets and forming a weak (fist) layer of approx 2cm thick. In addition, BLT and NTL, .5-10mm surface hoar has grown on the surface of this persistent grain form. NTL, in aspects of intense solar radiation, the SH did breakdown however and the surface facets did begin to melt by below 5000 ft midday Saturday. We did not explore the elevation limit as to the melting and breakdown of these forms.
