Observations
Climbers from Portland Mt Rescue, Professional Ski Patrollers, and avalanche instructors from the Mt Hood area have all conveyed how challenging and scary backcountry travel is right now. The sun is not having a significant impact on softening the firm surface, even at low elevations.
