Observations

Party of two - skied The Slot via the Phantom Approach and Thunder Exit -- skinning and travel conditions not too bad with soft supportable crust or sugary snow -- upper mountain had 4-6" fresh on top of preserved powder with variable crust and wind affects -- Slot entrance snow was shallow and unconsolidated, but wind loading lower created stiffened slabs up against the walls, and lots of dry soft slough channeling down the middle -- sheltered trees preserved some refreshed pow above ~4500 on the southerly descent.
