Observations

Widespread SH from parking lot to mission peak summit. Found a new interface consisting of most recent storm snow on top of old SH. We dug three pits today - two formal and one relatively informal. Shovel tilt test, shear test, column test, propagation saw test @ around ~6.3k ft all produced remarkably comforting test results. Despite this, our group still stuck to *mostly* conservative terrain. Later in the day, we met up with a friend that triggered and rode an avalanche on terrain very similar (aspect, elevation, proximity) to the terrain we had performed tests on with unremarkable results. This certainly gave us pause and reminded us of the dangers of trusting snow pit results.
