Comments:
Loose wet avalanche activity abounded on steep southern aspects of Lookout Mountain on Saturday. These were not visible when looking at these aspects around 10:30, but by 11:30 there were loose wet slides everywhere, mostly originating in 50-plus degree slopes, but in some cases continuing quite a ways.
By 1 PM, E aspects had loose wet activity as well, but these did not entrain much additional new snow.

Toured southern and eastern aspects of Lookout Mountain. In the morning there was large (4mm approx) surface hoar in open terrain. All day there was a lot of unconsolidated snow on top of a crust. It started out beautifully dry, but by late morning, solar radiation had had its way with it and loose wet activity abounded.
Surface hoar was still present on protected E aspects at 2:30 PM.
