Observations

Skied Ptarmigan Ridge on this beautiful, sunny Saturday. Strong E-SE ridgeline winds sustained at ~25 mph around 10-11 a.m.

Small wind slab in Kootenay Trees was easily trigger by skier weight below rollover. D1 and inconsequential in size, but if any larger could have easily entrained more snow and created a problematic situation with gully terrain trap below.

Ptarmigan Ridge itself was rather wind-scoured and upper slopes skied well. We did not noticed any signs of instability on the ridge.
