Observations

Avalanche obs: Ski cut a very small (sz.5) wind slab while dropping Super Bowl on the far looker’s left side of the bowl (NW aspect at 6300ft). Wind slab was localized and stubborn.

Snowpack obs: Numerous hand shears reported moderate but stubborn results down 31cms on the storm-wind interface. Observed 3mm surface hoar on the surface specific to polar aspects above Henskin Lake.

Weather obs: L-M winds from the SE at ridgetop, light blowing snow. Clear & sunny all day. Crisp and cold on polar aspects, and winds were isolated to ridgetop.

In addition to the observed wind slab problem, loose dry could be an issue in steeper terrain, causing up to a small D2 or more realistically a D1.5 on polar aspects.
