Comments:
20 feet wide, 2" crown with 16" thick large slabs. Ran 100 ft, did not trigger anything below it.

Observations

Skier triggered d1 windslab skinning up a 35-40 degree section. Broke 5 feet above, carried skier 30 feet into tree and kept running. Skier was 25% buried.

No signs prior to event other than steep,, wind loaded slope. At start, loud cracking sounds with simultaneous fragmentation of the slope completely surrounding skier. Skier immediately swept off feet and entrained.

No injuries occured.
