Snow above 4K was pretty fun and right side up. Tree bombed concrete below. Digging hand sheers to two feet down at 5300 it was quite difficult to get anything below the top 8 inches to move. Pulling really hard with both arms got a layer about two feet down to move on a q2 sheer.
We observed a very large fracture in the upper chair bowl that appeared to have come down a cycle or two ago, as well as what appeared to be 1 to 2 ft crown that got partially buried by the most recent storm on the thunder creek exit from the slot.
A high thin cloud layer above and rising valley vog below plus a gentle east wind kept the sun from doing much damage today. Open south aspects had a mild fine to ski soft crust on the surface.
Party in front of us ski cut the slot on belay with no result and was skied with just sluffing. Exit to the slot was quite unconsolidated and we only observed minor wind affect throughout the alpine but it was picking up as we left.
