Observations

Left the Lake Wenatchee sled drop in around 9am as the clouds moved in. Weather was warm and wet, snow was spring like slush on the ride in. As we approached the turn below Jove peak the snow became much lighter and the sun made an appearance for about a half hour then the clouds moved back in and it started snow lightly. There was about 1.5-2ft of new snow a the top of rainy pass. We toured to the top of the Nason Ridge trail and dropped back down to Smithbrook on the east side of rainy pass. The snow was thick, heavy and tree bombed out in the forest from the wind 2 days ago. Winds were light from the east. We saw a few roller balls but no fractures and the stability was good. The snow picked up around 3pm and was coming down hard as we left . It was very wet snow, had to wipe goggles off, just after dark.
