Size 2: Could bury, injure, or kill a person
Elevation:

Aspect:
NE
Comments:
Attempting chair peak circumnavigation. Dropped from NE buttress of Chair Peak, headed northwest towards exit gulch to get down to snow lake at approx 2pm. Skier in different Group below had triggered slide, got carried, was not buried or injured. After observing northern wind loading on north side, we backed tracked out and bailed. Instead of continuing northeast/down to snow lake.

Signs of Unstable Snow

None reported

Observations

Snow was freshly wind loaded, strong 25+mph north winds were loading north leeward side of Chair peak NE buttress. Once we turned around, we avoided convex steep slopes to avoid being carried over cliffs along southern side of snow lake.
