On many terrain features greater than 35 degrees, below tree line, new storm snow slid on the rain crust from 12/21. These wet loose slide paths were observed later in the day on 12/31.

Observations

Nearly knee deep snow breaking trail on the FS road approach. New snow became increasingly wet and heavy as the day continued at elevations up to 5500 ft.
