Triggered Avalanches

Did you trigger any avalanches?
Yes
Was it intentional?
No
Avalanche Type:
Soft Slab
Size:
Size 1: Relatively harmless to people
Elevation:
5000
Aspect:
NE
Comments:
"Slot Machine" entrances both slid. The slabs were ~4" deep and appeared to be in the new snow that fell 12/27 afternoon. I skied skiers right entrance after first group and triggered a piece of hangfire which, while small, picked up momentum very quickly and almost swept me off my feet. My guess is storm/wind loading in the tops of these gullies.
