Skier triggered on a 40 degree slope. Ran on icy bed surface for approximately 200'

Signs of Unstable Snow

None reported

Observations

Traveled on N, E, and S aspects up to 5000' around snow lake. Observed wind scoured surfaces especially on southerly aspects and wind deposited snow on all aspects. Did not observe any consolidated wind slab on any aspects. Winds were unexpectedly calm until approximately 1:30 when SW winds with gusts up to approximately 20-30 MPH were observed transporting snow.
