Morning tour inbounds in the Silver Fir area at Summit Central. Was snowing heavily with high wind around 6:30am, though the snow lightened over the next couple hours. NWAC telemetry stated 7" fell overnight at 3010' (pass level), though there was substantial variability due to wind-transported snow. Found everything from exposed ice crust (likely from earlier rain) to wind crust to fresh soft snow depths of well over a foot. Skiing was limited to low-angle terrain, but I did not notice any shooting cracks or whumphing. The skiing in the deeper wind-transported powder was excellent.
