Stayed off of terrain steeper than 30 degrees today. Around 10:30 at Austin Pass, a thin rime crust was starting to form on snow surface, but snow quickly picked up and persisted at a light rate. On small steep embankments greater than 35 degrees, you could get small "pushalanches" to entrain a small amount of the damp snow atop the December 9th crust (did not fan out any further than my skis). Quick pit dug at 4300ft / SE aspect / 30 degree F Air Temp. held 140 cm of snow. 34 cms of snow covered the December 9th crust, 24 cms of which appeared to be from the start of 12/13. It appeared the interface from the old snow surface that was buried on the morning of the 13th, as well as the interface on the crust were bonding well and I did not notice any buried SH at this location. 4F Grains were moist below this 1F+ hard crust. Noticed several tree bombs and small roller balls during the warmer part of the day. Happy Riding. #skikind
