Wind blowing strong higher up, moving a lot of snow around. Lots of windblown-snow evident in more open areas. 3-4" of hoarfrost/new snow on top of the crust. Traveled on mostly N aspects so snow was mostly sheltered from wind and sun. Dug a quick and dirty pit on a NW aspect at about 4300'. Dug down about 4' and below the loose stuff on top found solid, wet snow that was well bonded. Isolated a column and had to pry it off with the shovel tilt test to get it to fail. Curious to see how the new snow predicted tomorrow bonds to the loose dry stuff on the surface.
