Triggered Avalanches

Did you trigger any avalanches?
Yes
Was it intentional?
No
Avalanche Type:
Soft Slab
Size:
Size 2: Could bury, injure, or kill a person
Elevation:
5800 ft
Aspect:
N
Comments:
I was walking towards the north face when my step triggered a wind slab above. The crown was ~5ft above me and the crown was ~6-8in and ~30ft wide. There was high winds and spin drift once we got to the ridge which loaded the north side (leeward). It immediatly swept both me and my partner off our feet and ~20ft downhill. Large enough to injure but not kill.

Signs of Unstable Snow

None reported

Observations

Several other small avalanches noticed on north sides of neighboring peaks.
