Northeast facing aspect, 6000', 30-35 degree slope. No direct sunlight/sun effect when we skied around 2pm. Visible rollers, although minimal, near treeline. Thin surface crust across the face. Breakable, maybe 3/4" thick. Some fractured pieces slid down on top of crust. Concerned about wind loading effects, but not much cracking observed with jump testing. Minimal cornice development along Pea Gravel Ridge. Decided to ski near trees for added security. Riding felt secure, but crust made for slightly more challenging riding conditions.
