Consistent snow started at 3k. Snow was wet until about 4k and higher in the trees. At 4,400' in a sheltered clearing we observed surface hoar with crystals up to about 1cm. Found close to a foot of preserved powder from 5-6k. Above treeline the snow was heavily wind-affected and there was little soft snow to be found. The only natural avalanche activity we observed was some old roller balls on a steep W aspect from about 4-5k.
Weather was completely clear. Winds were not as strong as expected. Calm until we hit the summit ridge then moderate E-S wind.
