Got an NBA Jam "Boom Shaka Laka" of a collapse at 4800' about 25cm down. Flattish transition zone below treeline on a northeast aspect. Storm snow was 8" or so, but with wind effect it was deeper on lee slopes and breaking was hard. Skier compaction seemed to have moderated cracking to under foot below Tye and Skyline.
