Observations

Skied NW aspect with trees from 5200' to 4600'. A few inches of light snow on top of crusty snow resulted in worse than expected skiing. Skied SW facing open terrain between 5400' and 4800' and that is where the best boot top powder turns were had. Snow got a little heavier as the pitch steepened up to mid 30s about 5100' elevation on solar aspects, but no roller balls were observed on any of the slopes we skied. Temps ranged from -5 C in the parking lot at 9:15 am to -1 C at 5400' elevation at 12:15 pm. Observed moderate east winds on ridge and small amounts of drifting new snow. No signs of instability on the slopes we skied but we avoided convex rollovers in the terrain. Clear skies the whole day.
