Observations

Skied low angle glades (less than 30 degrees) on the East slopes of Mt. McCausland ('Thor Glades') up to about 5400'. Slow travel - just enjoying the sun and breaking trail in deep powder (along Smith Brook Creek beyond the road). Clear, calm, no precip. Highest temp recorded was 29. Saw some evidence of wind deposited snow (drifts, rippled snow surfaces, small cornice) where trees were sparse near/below tree line and above tree line. Very little solar effect where we were (snow surface was not wet, saw no large tree bombs during the day). Excellent, if cautious, skiing. Coverage is still low - there are many holes, open creeks, and other hazards.

Media
