Observations

I suspect that i may have triggered a small wind slab or wind blown snow. Traveling within ski area near/below tree-line. Chair 6 area commonly referred to as sticky trees or sticky wicket. upon turning into the chute, a large snow mass came off below my skis but stopped quickly and was soft when i skied over the debris. Snow was blowing from behind me, facing down hill, the hill was facing NE. the angle of the slope is very steep, and I could not see a "crown" where it kicked off from which gives me doubts as to if this was a wind loaded area. I have not yet taken AIARE courses, but am signed up for one and trying to work on my observation skills.
