Toured to the top of Hyak for a morning shakedown jaunt. Clear and sunny with a few clouds at right at the pass. Light winds at the top of Hyak, the few clouds at and just east of the pass were moving east. Snowpack was ~60-65cm at 3700. Found widespread surface hoar/rime/rimed surface hoar on all aspects from ~3500-3700 in addition to significant riming on all the trees. Skied back down the cat road and passed at least 50 people (snowshoes, skis, split boards, hikers plus 2 snowmobiles) on the way up. The Hyak parking lot, in addition to those at Summit central and west appear to be pretty full. Lots of folks sledding and hiking.
