Observations

Ski tour in the Chiwaukum Mountains.

Observed surface hoar on east-facing open air aspects above 5000'. Dug a test pit on a SE aspect in Baldy Basin at 6610' to assess snowpack and to practice. We found a consolidated snowpack at a depth of 155 cm (5') with CTH21BRK@10cm.

Observed cornices below Mt. Baldy.

Weather was clear with a cloud layer between 5200'-6200'.
