General area: Henry Creek Cut / Arrowhead approach - skinned up the road to treeline and skied back down the road. Very thin coverage with stumps, logs and rocks lurking below.
There is a supportable rain crust 5cm thick where the snow meets the road ( +- 3000') The crust gets thinner and none supportive as you rise in elevation. The crust begins to disappear around 3800'-4000' and is undetectable at 4200' where the snow/frost line is currently. Small surface hoar (SH) appears at 4000' on the north facing shaded slopes. The SH is very small (<.5cm) but fairly wide spread. I didn't go much higher, obvious bush whacking to get to the NW slopes of Arrowhead. HS @ 3000' = 32cm, HS @ 4200' 47cm. General snowpack is 1-3mm MF, possibly isothermal on the more sun exposed areas. J . Meriwether.
